Students/Alumni + Real Skills = Real Prizes
The new competition of the NetSpace Skills Pursuit is designed to recognize the top student and alumni players in the world and reward them with real prizes. Will you be one of the top players in your category (PC Technician, Network Technician, Network Associate, or Network Professional) and win a prize package?


The NetSpace Skills Pursuit 2010 Competition Opens February 1, 2010
Starting February 1, 2010 at 12:01 a.m. Central time (GMT-5hrs) students and alumni began to apply their networking skills to real world problems in a new online NetSpace Skills Pursuit competition. Join in the fun and explore how networking can be used to solve a multitude of problems and enhance the lives of those who are connected.

To stay in the competitive track, you need to join and play Phases 1 and Phase 2 by February 28, 2010.


Eligibility
This NetSpace Skills Pursuit 2010 Competition is open to any Cisco Networking Academy student or alumni who has a registered public profile on AcademyNetSpace.com, has a valid student or alumni account in Academy Connection, and who has network access that supports participation.


Top Scores Move to the Next Level
This NetSpace Skills Pursuit competition has four increasingly difficult phases in each category of play. One phase will be released every two weeks. All players who wish to compete for a prize package must complete Phases 1 and 2 by February 28, 2010 before the launch of Phase 3 on March 1, 2010. After Phase 3 launches, new players will not be able to join the NetSpace Skills Pursuit 2010 contest. Phase 4 will close on March 28, 2010. Complete rules will be available at www.academynetspace.com beginning February 1, 2010 as you register for this competition and you can access them from a link at the bottom of the page during your play.

After this Skills Pursuit 2010 contest is complete, the game boards will be open to all players. New players or competitors from the contest may switch and play another category track or play the same track over again to improve individual scores. This is a great way to continue to test your networking and IT skills.

 

Packet Tracer 5.2
Scenario-based questions will challenge you to provide real-world solutions using your technical knowledge and tools such as Packet Tracer 5.2.

Packet Tracer 5.2 is the latest version of Cisco Networking Academy’s comprehensive networking technology teaching and learning software. Innovative features of Packet Tracer 5.2, including powerful simulation, visualization, authoring, assessment, and collaboration capabilities that allow students to solve problems and learn concepts in an engaging and dynamic social environment.


Get Ready to Participate Today
In order to participate in the NetSpace Skills Pursuit 2010 competition, you must have a registered public profile at www.academynetspace.com.

All Game Boards are designed to give participants an opportunity to measure their score against peers in the same education level. During the competition period, participants may only enter one (1) category and will need to have the following downloaded from Academy Connection to fully participate:

  • • Packet Tracer 5.2 if you are playing on Network Technician, Network Associate or Network Professional tracks
  • • Virtual Desktop/Virtual Laptop if you are playing on the PC Technician track. These programs are available free of charge to Networking Academy students and alumni.

Which Game Board Should You Play On?
All Game Boards are designed to give participants an opportunity to measure their score against peers in the same education level. During the competition period, participants may only enter one (1) category:

  • 1. PC Technician - Students currently enrolled in IT Essentials or alumni who have completed only IT Essentials courses through Cisco Networking Academy should select this category.
  • 2. Network Technician - Students currently enrolled in CCNA 1, CCNA 2, CCNA Exploration 1 or 2, CCNA Discovery 1 or 2 or alumni whose highest level of completed course work through Cisco Networking Academy was any of the above should select this category.
  • 3. Network Associate - Students currently enrolled in CCNA 3, CCNA 4, CCNA Exploration 3 or 4, CCNA Discovery 3 or 4, or alumni whose highest level of completed course work through Cisco Networking Academy was any of the above should select this category.
  • 4. Network Professional - Students currently enrolled in CCNP, CCNA Security, Network Security, or Fundamentals of Wireless LANs or alumni whose highest level of completed course work through Cisco Networking Academy was CCNP, Security, or Wireless should select this category.
