Umiestnenie našich študentov na NAG 2012 |

V Košiciach na Technickej univerzite dňa 26.3.2012 prebehol ďalší ročník národnej súťaže študentov stredných škôl a univerzít programu NetAcad - NAG 2012. Tejto súťaže sa opäť úspešne zúčastnili aj štyria naši študenti, ktorí reprezentovali Žilinskú univerzitu i našu sieťovú akadémiu. Súťaže sa zúčastnili študenti FRI, páni Ján Hrnko, Martin Pohančeník, Ján Janovic a Peter Hruška. V kategórii PT získal štvrté miesto Ján Hrnko a piate miesto Peter Hruška. V kategórii UNI získal tretie miesto Ján Janovic a štvrté miesto Martin Pohančeník. Umiestnenie našich študentov je najvyrovnanejšie spomedzi všetkých účastníkov NAG 2012 v kategóriách UNI a PT - z pohľadu úspešnosti celej akadémie sa radíme na najvyššie priečky. Celkové výsledky súťaže NAG 2012 sú zverejnené na stránke http://www.netacad.sk/nag2012/vysledky-narodne-kolo Chcel by som sa týmto našim študentom aj touto cestou poďakovať za úspešnú účasť a reprezentáciu našej akadémie a školy. Letný sieťový tábor 2012 - výzva |

Tak ako každý rok, aj tento úre nadšencov sieťových technológií
pripravujeme počas letných mesiacov roka 2012 už piaty ročník Letného
sieťového tábora na Žilinskej univerzite. Srdečne pozývame všetkých,
ktorí si chcú rozšíriť svoje „sieťové obzory“ alebo uvažujú o
priemyselných sieťových certifikáciách stupňa professional ako aj associate.
Termíny Letného sieťového tábora budú upresnené. Predpokladáme a budeme sa snažiť zachovať termíny podobné tým v LST 2011.

New Version of CCNA Security Available March 8, 2012 |

The
purpose of this announcement is to provide all CCNA Security Instructor
Trainers and contacts at CCNA Security Training Centers, ITCs, and ASCs
advance notice of the upcoming new release of our CCNA Security
curriculum. CCNA Security v1.1 is scheduled for general availability
release on Academy Connection on March 8, 2012, and the following
information will be sent to all academies on that date. Please note that
the course, and resources on the Tools and Course Catalog pages of
Academy Connection, will not be available until March 8, 2012.
CCNA Security v1.1 is a new minor release that includes new content and labs that align to the updated Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS) certification exam (640-554).
Major changes include the addition of the Cisco Adaptive Security
Appliance (ASA), and Cisco Configuration Professional (CCP) replaced
Security Device Manager (SDM) throughout the course content and labs.
More information, including where to learn about chapter by chapter
changes to the curriculum, is available in the Information Resources
section below.

Discount Value of Cisco CCENT and CCNA Certification Exam Vouchers Increases |

Cisco continues to make strong investments in its certification and
training program to meet the growing demand for skilled and qualified
networking professionals. To facilitate growth, maintain
competitiveness, and standardize exam pricing, Cisco has increased the
standardized global prices for the following Cisco certification exams,
effective January 16, 2012:
- Cisco CCNA Composite exam (640-802)
- ICND1 (640-822) – Cisco CCENT certification exam
- ICND2 (640-816)
Please be advised that Cisco Networking Academy students who are eligible for vouchers for these exams will not
be affected by the price increases. Cisco is increasing the value of
student voucher discounts for eligible Networking Academy students by 8
percent, from 50 percent to 58 percent, to eliminate the impact of the
price increases for our students.

Peter Palúch získal titul Cisco Designated VIP 2012 WAN & LAN |

 Lektor žilinského ITC Peter Palúch, držiteľ titulu Cisco Designated VIP 2011 WAN & LAN Switching and Routing, je ocenený týmto titulom i pre rok 2012, a to opäť v dvoch sekciách: WAN a LAN. Peter je držiteľom tohto titulu nepretržite od 10. novembra 2010, kedy bola kategória ocenení Designated VIP oficiálne zavedená.
Titul Cisco Designated VIP sa každoročne udeľuje sieťovým špecialistom pôsobiacim na diskusnom fóre Cisco Support Community za dlhodobú vysokú úroveň spolupráce a podpory. V súčasnosti je titulom Designated VIP ocenených 24 sieťových odborníkov, z toho len 7 v dvoch alebo viacerých sekciách. Za nominácie na tento titul vrátane definitívneho výberu ocenených expertov sú zodpovední zástupcovia spoločnosti Cisco. Pri výbere nominácií sa berú do úvahy najmä technické znalosti nominantov, počet a kvalita ich príspevkov a ohlasy na ne. Cisco Support Community je otvorené verejné komunitné fórum, na ktorom si jeho členovia vymieňajú profesionálne skúsenosti z oblasti komunikačných sietí, riešia problémy a prehlbujú si svoje znalosti. New Version of Cisco Packet Tracer Now Available |

We
are pleased to announce the release of Cisco Packet Tracer version
5.3.3, a maintenance release that includes the following improvements:
- All outstanding issues reported through the
Packet Tracer bug tracking software have been fixed. For your reference,
the Packet Tracer bug report is accessible from the main tool bar of
the Packet Tracer application via Help | Report an Issue.
- A JavaScript API interface has been enabled for
development of Packet Tracer activities by instructors. Documentation is
included in the Packet Tracer Help files.

Announcing New Cisco Packet Tracer Requirement for PT Practice SBAs |

Starting February 1, 2012, Cisco
Packet Tracer 5.3.2 or above must be installed on your computer to complete a
Packet Tracer Practice Skills Based Assessment (PT Practice SBA).
If you are
not already using version 5.3.2 of Packet Tracer, please ensure that all student and lab
computers have Packet Tracer 5.3.2 or above installed by February 1, 2012,
prior to taking a PT Practice SBA. The exam environment checker
will determine whether the necessary software is installed prior to launching the
exam.
To download
the latest version of Packet Tracer:
- Log
in to Academy Connection
- Click
the Cisco Packet Tracer graphic on the left
- Select
Software Downloads
- Choose
the appropriate download package for your needs
